Texas A&M University International Student & Scholar Services supports international students, scholars, and their families as they navigate the U.S. immigration system and life in the U.S.  We educate on policies and regulations and provide programs to enhance the Texas A&M international community experience.

ISSS manages immigration services strictly and fairly to best protect our International Aggie community and Texas A&M University.

• We will remember that, to you, the U.S. immigration process may be a new or intimidating experience and that you may be nervous. 
• We will use our available time and resources to equitably assist all stakeholders.
• We will provide detailed and accurate information on our website.
• We will provide thorough and accurate immigration services.
• We will explain our reasoning if we cannot approve a request.

We expect you to:

• Treat ISSS staff with dignity and respect.
• Research the ISSS website and other pertinent resources before contacting ISSS.
• Respect ISSS, university, and federal timelines, policies, and procedures.
• Submit your requests as far in advance as possible.
• Complete your requests fully and accurately.
• Be forthcoming about your purpose and plans.
• Accept responsibility for your immigration status. 

Education Abroad (EA)

About Us

Education Abroad at Texas A&M is proud to promote and facilitate numerous transformational international experiences for close to 5,000 Aggies each academic year. With offerings ranging from one week to one year in over 100 different countries around the world, we help Aggies from freshmen to doctoral candidates find study, intern, research, or volunteer programs to fit their academic and personal interests, career goals, and budget.

International experiences actively prepare students to be global citizens, immersing them in foreign languages and cultures to foster intercultural knowledge and competence. Participating in education abroad experiences while at Texas A&M gives students the opportunity to expand their intellectual and personal horizons, better navigate different environments, and build a more impressive resume.

Abroad For All Commitment

Education Abroad believes that international opportunities should be accessible to all students, regardless of age, background, ability, or socio-economic status. We are committed to providing support and guidance to students throughout their experience abroad and strive to prepare them to be global citizens. We work with both internal and external partners to create programs and environments that are welcoming and educational. Through our Abroad For All Commitment, every student should feel empowered to inquire and utilize our services.

 

Branch Campus Support

Education Abroad not only serves the College Station campus, but also provides support for TAMU Galveston, TAMU Higher Education Center at McAllen, TAMU at Qatar, TAMU School of Law, and TAMU Health Science Center.

Global Partnerships & Initiatives (GPI)

The Mission of Global Services is to facilitate formal linkages with global partners and provide specialized services that enhance learning, relationships, and collaborations. Our clientele includes Texas A&M and international faculty, staff, and administrators, local community leaders in Costa Rica, and both student and faculty Fulbrighters. Our support services for clientele includes the following.

Soltis Center for Research & Education

The Soltis Center’s mission is to serve as the official institutional representation of Texas A&M University in Costa Rica and to assist in the internationalization of education, research, and outreach programs in support of the university’s goals. The Center supports the University’s initiatives in Costa Rica and throughout Central America.  

The center serves faculty and students from the Texas A&M University System and from other universities and research institutions by:

• Facilitating faculty and staff led student programs 
• Assisting researchers to achieve their objectives 
• Providing room and board and logistical services 
• Creating academic and local partnerships within Costa Rica 
• Developing student service-learning programs in the local community
