About

The Texas A&M Global Aggie Credential Program is designed to develop students' global competencies, enhance their cultural understanding, and prepare them for leadership roles in an increasingly interconnected world. By engaging with experiential learning opportunities, such as study abroad, intercultural workshops, and globally focused coursework, the Global Aggie Credential helps participants stand out in their academic and professional pursuits by formally recognizing their dedication to global engagement. The program is open to students from all disciplines.

The program is open to all undergraduate students, regardless of major, and integrates academic coursework, experiential learning, and intercultural engagement. Connect your academic and co-curricular experiences to expand your global competence and career readiness.

Upon completing the program requirements, you will receive a digital badge to showcase on your LinkedIn and resume, a certificate of completion, and a Global Aggie Medallion to wear at graduation.

How to Qualify

Requirments

Globally Oriented Coursework

Complete 6 credit hours of International and Cultural Diversity courses. These are interdisciplinary subjects related to global issues, cultures, international relations. Examples of courses include:

 

  •  AFST 209/PBSI 209 - Psychology of Culture and Diversity
  • ALEC 350 - Global Agricultural Issues
  • ANTH 403/RELS 403 - Anthropology of Religion
  • ARCH 212 - Social and Behavioral Factors in Design
  • COMM 335 - Intercultural Communication
  • ECON 312  - Poverty, Inequality and Social Policy
  • GLST 210    Languages of the World
  • And so much more!
Intercultural Events

Attend and submit reflections on 10 intercultural events or seminars on campus. These could include lectures, cultural events, and discussions. Examples of recurring intercultural events include:

 

Sustained Engagement
Participate in two semester-long pre-approved activities such as participating in an international club, engaging in service learning, or studying abroad

  • Service learning opportunties are endless! You can volunteer to serve on campus or in the broader B/CS community

International Experience
Complete one international engagement activity such as study abroad, an international internship, or a global research project. Visit Education Abroad to learn more about the various opportunities to go abroad. 

Did you study abroad more than once? If one of your abroad experiences was semester long, submit it to count for your sustained engagement credit. If it was a shorter experience, submit it to count for an intercultural event credit. 

If you absolutely can’t go abroad to complete this area, contact us to discuss potential alternative options.
Reflection and/or Presentation
Present any findings and reflections in a formal setting of your choosing or submit a comprehensive reflection paper. 

We recommend reaching out to your Department for opportunities to present your findings or reflections. You can also choose to submit a 3-5 page comprehensive reflection paper on your experience. 
Global Competency Training & Development
Attend a Global Engagement Global Competency training and take the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) pre-test and post-test. Information about the IDI Assessment and the dates for the Global Competency training will be shared with students upon being enrolled in the Global Aggie Credential canvas course.

Upon acceptance, you will be added to the Global Aggie Credential canvas course to receive updates on qualifying events and to submit your required activities.
