Change of Campus
F-1 and J-1 international students are permitted to make changes to their academic program during their studies in the U.S. Most program changes require the student to request and obtain an updated I-20 or DS-2019. Students must submit a Change of Major, Degree Level, of Campus request to obtain an updated I-20 or DS-2019 if:
- You're F-1 and the change requires you to move to another SEVIS campus managed by ISSS
- OR
- You're J-1 and you're switching between College Station and Galveston
Common Examples
- An Engineering at Galveston student receives a Form I-20 for attending the Galveston campus and completes 1 or 2 years of their academic program. They are now ready for the Entry to a Major process to begin a degree-seeking major at Texas A&M University in College Station. The I-20 will need to be updated to reflect the new major and the change from Galveston to College Station, so the Change of SEVIS Campus request should be submitted.
- A Health Science Center student receives a Form I-20 for attending one HSC site and later decides to transition to another HSC site to complete their degree. The I-20 will need to be updated to reflect the new HSC site, even if the major and degree level remain the same, so the Change of SEVIS Campus request should be submitted.
TB Test Information
Most international students will receive a hold from Student Health Services about Tuberculosis (TB) Screening.
Students in Galveston can visit two locations to get their TB test results within 48 hours:
For students at both the School of Dentistry and School of Law, the best place to obtain the appropriate Tuberculosis (TB) screening in the Dallas/Fort Worth area is the Dallas County Health Center.
Blinn TEAM and Engineering Programs
The Texas A&M-Blinn TEAM Program is a co-enrollment partnership between TAMU and Blinn College. Students will start their program at Blinn College and then later transfer to TAMU to finish their degree.
The Texas A&M Engineering Academies Program is an engineering transition program into which undergraduate students are admitted to the Texas A&M College of Engineering and attend the first few semesters of their academic program co-enrolled at one of several partner institutions located throughout the State of Texas.
