Passport Renewal Requirements
Not all passports can use the renewal form. See the next section to see if you can use the renewal form.
- You must submit your most recent passport with the renewal application.
- It cannot be damaged past normal wear and tear.
- It was not reported lost or stolen.
- It was issued within the last 15 years.
- It was issued in your current name, or you can provide an official name change document.
- If your most recent passport was issued when you were 15 years old or younger (valid for 5 years), you CANNOT renew your passport with the DS-82 form. Please see the requirements for a New Passport.
- Additional documents may be required depending on your circumstances. Please see the State Department website.

- DS-82 Application

- Use BLACK ink only and print single-sided
- Most Recent Passport
- Must meet the requirements listed above
- Name Change Documents (if applicable)
- Marriage license, divorce decree, or court-ordered name change
- Photo
- One 2x2 passport photo meeting the U.S. Department of State requirements

- Adult Passport Book: $130
- Adult Passport Card: $30
- Optional Expedite Fee: $60
- Optional Passport Return 1-2 Day Priority Express Shipping: $22.05 (effective 6/27/25)
- Regular 2-3 Day Priority Shipping is included in the application fee.
- The Passport Card cannot be shipped Priority Express.

Processing Times
You can apply for routine service and expect to receive a passport in 4-6 weeks (not including mailing).
You also have the option of paying an additional $60 for expedited service to receive your passport in 2-3 weeks (not including mailing).
