While you're in the U.S. there are many opportunities to immerse yourself in a new culture and have fun! The Bryan-College Station area has a lot of things to do, and we are centrally located between several major Texas cities. But remember that everything is bigger in Texas (even our drive times), so if you want to go further north or west, make sure you are ready for a long drive!
State and National Parks – Being outdoors is a Texas pastime, and there are many state parks, forests, historic sites, national parks, forests, wildlife refuges and a national seashore. It would take an entire year to visit one state park each weekend. Visit the many Texas State Parks at http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us and the National Parks in Texas at https://www.nps.gov/state/tx/index.htm.
Music Festivals – Texas is home to dozens of music festivals every year. Even just walking down the streets in Austin (the live music capital of the world!) in the evening guarantees live music pouring out of bars and restaurants, but for those who want to see more popular performers we have plenty of options available. Austin City Limits, SXSW, IHeartRadio Country, Neon Desert Music Festival, Willie Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic, Freaky Deaky Texas...and this doesn’t even scrape the surface of all the live music that Texas has to offer.
