BRYAN/COLLEGE STATION, Texas - June 9, 2025 — Texas A&M University has been recognized by the U.S. Department of State for producing 29 recipients of the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship for the Spring 2025 application cycle.
This prestigious award supports outstanding American undergraduate students with limited financial means to study or intern abroad. The Aggies selected represent a wide range of academic disciplines and will travel to destinations across the globe, including Antarctica, South Africa, Iceland, Japan, and Brazil.
“We are incredibly proud of our students for earning this highly competitive scholarship,” said Dr. Holly Hudson, Associate Vice President for Global Engagement. “Their success reflects their academic excellence, commitment to global engagement, and the university’s dedication to expanding access to international experiences.”
The Gilman Scholarship not only provides financial support but also empowers students to gain critical skills such as language proficiency, intercultural communication, and global awareness – skills that are increasingly vital in today’s interconnected world.
Since the program’s inception, Texas A&M has consistently ranked among the top institutions for producing Gilman Scholars, a testament to the university’s strong support for international education and student success.
Established by the U.S. Congress, the Gilman Scholarship is an initiative of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and is aided in its implementation by the Institute of International Education. The next application cycle will be launched in August 2025. To learn more about the Gilman Scholarship, meet with an Education Abroad Advisor or visit gilmanscholarship.org.
