Martin Rosales, Program Manager for the Department of Global Engagement, was recently selected as the recipient of the Rising Star Award during the NAFSA Region III conference in Corpus Christi. This award is given to an international education professional who shows passion and has made significant contributions to their department, institution, and field.
Rosales was recognized for leading multiple technological initiatives for Education Abroad and International Student and Scholar Services that provided significant but positive changes in processes, end-user service, and accessibility.
"Martin has revolutionized how our office approaches technology projects and platforms," said Holly Hudson, Associate Vice President for Global Engagement and Senior International Officer. "He seamlessly supports staff within the Department of Global Engagement in our quest to become more efficient users of software and systems.”
In addition, Rosales has been an active member of NAFSA. He serves as a Trainer Corps member within the organization, sharing his knowledge as a teacher and leader within the region. He was also a part of the planning committee for the NAFSA state conference and has presented multiple times at state and regional conferences since 2020.
"Martin is always looking for ways to positively contribute to our field and build up those around him," said Katy Lane, Director of the Center for International Business Studies at Mays Business School. "He has an incredible drive to improve processes and give back to the international education community."
