Martin Rosales, program manager for the Department of Global Engagement, was recently selected as the 2023 recipient of the Technology Award during the International Office Consulting Conference. This award acknowledges the contributions of a professional in the field of international education who assists with data, reporting, technology, or business process development.

As an active member of several knowledge groups, Martin was recognized for supporting colleagues within the field through challenging situations. Martin received two nominations for this award that noted his dedication to best practices in technology and his love for the population he serves.

“Martin is a ray of sunshine when the technology clouds are dark and dreary,” one nominator said.

Within Global Engagement, Martin administrates and supports a variety of complex technological solutions that include application management for abroad programs and international case management software for immigration compliance. He has led several major software conversions and launches for Education Abroad and International Student and Scholar Services.

“The technology solutions Martin oversees are critical to the operations of Global Engagement,” said Holly Hudson, Associate Vice President for Global Engagement and Senior Internation Officer. “These systems must work flawlessly as we navigate the movement of thousands of inbound and outbound students.”

In November, Martin was also selected as the recipient of the Rising Star Award during the NAFSA Region III conference in Corpus Christi.
