Services
The Soltis Center offers a unique setting for the development of trans-disciplinary programs in an international setting. It establishes links with local institutions for the purpose of promoting collaborative research and learning experiences; and facilitates international community service projects.The Center also provides support in arranging and securing the local logistic, such as pre-arrival and at arrival orientation sessions, support for in-country coordination of Texas A&M study abroad and field trip programs, as well as support for coordination of events/programs held at the Soltis Center.
Sample Programs
The Soltis Center hosts and facilitates Semester Abroad Programs, such as the “Costa Rica Biomedical Sciences” program with the College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M University that is coordinated by Dr. Donald Brightsmith, who serves as a Global Faculty Advocate for the Center. The Soltis Center also hosts short-term academic programs from many different academic colleges. Program types can be identified through your local study abroad office or Education Abroad at Texas A&M University. Due to the Soltis Center's location in the midst and at the edge of a rainforest, it is well situated for a variety of educational, service learning and research uses. The Center provides facilities and support services to faculty, researchers, staff, and students. With its state-of-the-art technology and multi-use spaces, the Center is available for Texas A&M University and non-Texas A&M University users to arrange, but are not limited to, the following activities:
